Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 3 August 2026
This is a plain-English starting point for your terms. Have it reviewed by a qualified professional and complete the bracketed details before relying on it.

These terms govern your use of the AskBam website and service, provided by AskBam Ltd ("AskBam", "we", "us"). By using our website or service, you agree to these terms.

1. What AskBam is

AskBam is a platform that helps tradespeople turn customer voice notes and messages into professional quotes, and lets customers pay for those quotes securely online. AskBam provides the software and payment tools — it is not a party to the work agreement between a tradesperson and their customer, and is not responsible for the quality or completion of the work itself.

2. Accounts

You're responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping your account secure. You must be at least 18 and, where you use AskBam for business, authorised to act for that business.

3. Acceptable use

4. Payments and the AskBam Service Fee

When a customer pays through AskBam, payment is processed securely by Stripe and the tradesperson receives their agreed quote amount. AskBam charges a separate, clearly disclosed Service Fee (3%, minimum £1, maximum £99), shown to the customer before they pay. The Service Fee applies only to card payments made through AskBam; payments made directly between customer and tradesperson (such as cash or bank transfer) are outside AskBam and carry no fee.

5. Collections service

Where offered, AskBam may help customers recover overdue payments on invoices issued through the platform, including by arranging reminders, demand letters through approved partners, and referrals to regulated collection agencies. Any fees and steps are agreed with you before a case is escalated.

6. Intellectual property

The AskBam name, brand and platform are owned by AskBam Ltd. You keep ownership of the content and business information you put into AskBam, and grant us the permissions needed to provide the service to you.

7. Availability & disclaimers

We work hard to keep AskBam running well but provide the service "as is" and can't guarantee it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. To the extent permitted by law, we exclude implied warranties.

8. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. Otherwise, to the extent permitted by law, AskBam is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for the work carried out between a tradesperson and their customer. [Confirm liability wording with your solicitor.]

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales, and the courts of England & Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
